Of course, it's better to buy this equipment in a specialist shop. On mopeds and scooters, only the helmet is mandatory. The only exception to the requirement to wear a helmet is motorbikes, trikes and light quadricycles that have a passenger compartment and where the driver and passenger are protected by a seat belt or a safety system if the passenger is a child.

Fluorescent vest

In Belgium, motorcyclists are not required to wear a fluorescent vest, although this does increase their chances of being seen in time by other users. However, the Highway Code states that "on motorways and roads for cars, the driver of a stranded vehicle who has stopped in a place where stopping and parking is prohibited, must wear a retro-reflective safety vest as soon as they leave their vehicle." Nor do motorcycle rider have to worry about carrying a triangle.
